B2 launch

bolt.new had a brand refresh in the works and needed visual support for it. We explored and experimented many ideas with expressive and bold identity leading our choices.

Previous iterations felt too sporty and didn't align with the overall direction the brand was going in.

We pivoted throughout exploration to land on PP Neue Montreal shapes so that it felt like it lived within the product. Originally the iconography didn't speak too directly to the product so as a result, we refined the icons so that it felt more bolt.new specific.

Build with Bolt - Community Program

The team wanted social graphics and a brand for their newest community program called Build with Bolt. The goal for this initiative's branding was to create a recognizable identity that could live across social channels, announcements, and community touchpoints.

This was an opportunity to extend the brand by leaning into more bold and expressive visuals. One note we wanted to address was that this program is for both B2B and B2C so we did not want to lean too heavily into only consumer graphics.

How can Build with Bolt break through the AI landscape noise?

Social Media Templates

Some learnings from the Build with Bolt project were pulled through to the social media templates. We wanted to lean into more tangible visuals, something that felt more grounded in reality married with inspiration of the original developer style: pixelation and grids.

Blog templates

As the team's focus shifted towards blog posts, we concluded that templating these assets was the best course of action. I created a Figma design system for the blog templates so that the team can pick and choose which blog headers they wanted to use.

Conclusion

This work provided space to explore new directions for the brand in a more fluid, expressive way, focusing on developing and extending visual concepts beyond the core identity through rapid iteration, experimentation, and refinement across multiple surfaces.
